Cape Town wedding videographer

A flat-topped mountain, vineyards and the Atlantic below.

Films for couples marrying in and around Cape Town: a wine estate in the Cape Winelands, a terrace above Camps Bay, a drive along Chapman’s Peak at the end of the afternoon.

A wedding in Cape Town

Around Cape Town, mountains run straight into the sea. Table Mountain stands over the city, the Atlantic seaboard is a line of white beaches and granite boulders, and inland the Winelands spread out in rows of vines below rocky peaks. A film of a wedding here can move from a long lunch among the vines to a cold blue ocean in the same day, and it should keep both.

From my base in Spain I film weddings across Europe and beyond. I film in a documentary and cinematic way, with no directing, no script, and the vows and speeches recorded clearly on discreet microphones, even with wind off the sea. Before the wedding I study the estate or venue with you and your planner, the shape of the day, and the hours when the light reaches the places you want to be. One wedding per date, always.

“Watching the video brought back all the excitement we felt on our wedding day. It’s beautiful, full of details and moments we had forgotten but will now never forget. It’s a memory we will cherish forever.”

Questions

Cape Town weddings: what couples ask me

Do you film weddings in Cape Town?

Yes. I live and work in Spain and I am free to take destination weddings anywhere in the world, including Cape Town and the Winelands. Planning happens in English or Spanish, over email and video calls.

How much does a wedding videographer in Cape Town cost?

Each destination wedding gets a proposal in euros tailored to it. You receive it within 24 hours of our call or your enquiry, built around the coverage you want.

Which months are best for a wedding in Cape Town?

The seasons run the other way from Europe, so the southern summer falls roughly from November to March. It is usually the drier, busier time of year. Your planner will know the weather for your month; I plan the filming around the light you choose.

Can we combine the Winelands and the coast?

Yes. Some couples marry on a wine estate and hold portraits or a farewell dinner by the sea. We work out the order with your planner so the day stays relaxed for you and your guests, and I shape the coverage around it.

Our planner and photographer are local. Is that a problem?

Not at all. I speak with both before the wedding and agree timings and positions. Your planner or celebrant will confirm the legal side; many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony there.

Will you use a drone?

Only where local rules and the weather allow. Parts of the area are protected, and wind is common, so I check with your planner first. The film never relies on it.

How early should we book, and how long does the film take?

Six to 12 months ahead is a good margin, more for dates in the southern summer. You get the film 2 to 4 months after the wedding, in a private online cinema, with a 2–3 minute trailer alongside it.
